Natri뇨제 펩타이드는 NPPC로 상징되는 유전자에 의해 코드되는 심방나트륨펩타이드(ANP), 뇌나트륨펩타이드(BNP) 및 C형나트륨펩타이드(CNP)의 구조적으로 관련된 3가지 분자로 구성된다.이러한 펩타이드는 강력한 나트륨뇨, 이뇨 및 혈관확장 활성을 가지며 체액 항상성 및 혈압 [5]조절에 관여합니다.ANP 및 BNP와는 달리 CNP에는 직접 natriuctive 액티비티가 없습니다.이는 CNP가 B형 Natride 수용체(NPRB)의 선택적 작용제인 반면 ANP와 BNP는 A형 Natride 수용체(NPRA)[8]의 선택적 작용제이기 때문이다.그것은 많은 자극에 반응하여 내피에서 합성되고 분비됩니다. 예를 들어 전단 응력(NO와 같은[clarification needed])과 특정 염증성 사이토카인입니다.[9]
