Discoscapa apicula는 이전에 알려진 두 개의 가장 오래된 벌 종 중 하나로 여겨졌던 게게목 말벌의 멸종종이다.이 종은 오리건 주립 [1][2]대학의 동물학자 조지 포이나 주니어가 2020년 버마 호박에 호박을 포함시킨 것으로 기술되었다.이 화석은 Hukawng 밸리 북부에 미얀마의 광산에서 최신 상태로 백악기 시대, 1억년 전에, Melittosphex burmensis 같은 나이도 이전에 알려진 가장 오래된 꿀벌 종으로 여겨지에서; 같은 호박 예금에서 나온다[3], 이 두 표본은 같은 approxi으로 간주되고 있다고 여겨지고 있어 발견되었다.엄마.더 최근의 연구는 D. apicula가 자신의 부족인 Discoscapini에 [4]속하는 Crabroninae에 속하는 말벌이라는 결론을 내렸다.
