하야스는 1919년 5월 23일 마을로 편입되었다.[5]

캐나다 통계청이 실시한 2016년 인구총조사에서 하아스 마을은 전체 민간주거 49곳 중 39곳에 70명이 거주하고 있어 2011년 인구 114곳과 -62.9%가 달라졌다.국토면적이 12.17km(0.45sqmi)로 2016년 인구밀도가 59.8km2/km(155.0/sqmi)에 달했다.[8]

2011년 인구조사에서 하아스 마을은 2006년 인구 111명보다 2.7% 증가한 114명의 인구를 기록했다.대지 면적 1.17km2(0.45제곱 mi)로 2011년에는 인구밀도가 97.4/km2(252.4/제곱 mi)로 나타났다.[9]
