하웰 스트리트 808번지, 8번지 & 하웰로도 알려진 하얏트 리젠시 시애틀은 2018년 12월 문을 연 워싱턴주 시애틀의 데니 트라이앵글 인근 고층 호텔이다. 하얏트가 운영하는 45층짜리 이 호텔은 1260개의 호텔 객실을 갖추고 있으며 시내 최대 규모다. 또한 10만3,000평방피트(9,600m2)의 회의 공간과 행사 공간, 2개의 볼룸과 라운지 등을 갖추고 있다.[5][6]

역사

이 부지에 대한 원래 제안은 2008년에 공개되었지만, 후에 대공황으로 인해 취소되었다.[7][8] 이 계획은 2011년부터 2013년까지 건설될 51층, 500피트(150m) 규모의 호텔을 필요로 했다. 그2 호텔은 10만 평방 피트의 컨벤션 공간, 회의실, 2개의 볼룸, 레스토랑, 1,100대의 주차 공간, 1,200개의 방을 포함했을 것이다. 리처드 헤드린이 1995년 450만 달러에 사들인 3/4 블록짜리 L자 모양의 소포인 이 사이트에는 호텔을 위해 철거했을 그레이하운드 라인 버스 정류장이 포함되어 있었다.[9]

R.C.헤드린은 이전 호텔 프로젝트를 취소한 후 2012년 이 블록에 남아 있는 땅을 매입했다. 개발자는 호텔과 아마도 사무용 건물을 그 부지에 설치하는 것에 대해 논의해왔다.[10][11] 그 후 개발자는 호텔, 아파트, 사무공간을 갖춘 500피트(150m) 높이의 두 개의 타워를 건설할 계획을 세웠다.[8][12][13] 이 계획은 2013년 3월에 변경되었는데, 특히 사무실과 2차 타워를 철거하여 승인 절차를 간소화하기 위해 변경되었다.[14] 43층짜리 빌딩은 1550개의 객실 호텔(시애틀 최대 규모), 15만 평방피트(1만4000m2)의 회의 공간, 150채의 아파트, 4만5000평방피트(4200m2)의 소매 공간을 갖추고 있다.[15]

그레이하운드는 2014년 버스 터미널을 소도 인근 스타디움 경전철역 인근으로 이전했다.[18] 터미널 건물 철거는 2015년 9월부터 시작됐다.[19] 45층 규모의 이 호텔은 2018년 12월 10일 개관했으며, 하얏트 리젠시 브랜드로 운영되고 있다.[5][20] 건설에 4억 7천만 달러가 들었고 2018년 12월 17일에 완전 개통되었다.[21] 이 호텔에는 2026년까지 회의 일정이 잡혀 있는데, 이 회의장의 첫 번째 주요 행사였던 2019년 1월 미국도서관협회 회의도 포함되어 있다.[22]
