Step (unit)한 단계(라틴어: 그라두스, 그라두스)는 2 2 로마 발(페데스) 또는 ½ 로마 페이스(패스스)에 해당하는 길이의 로마 단위였다.아그리파 산하의 표준화에 이어 한 걸음은 대략 0.81야드 또는 0.74m에 해당한다.
비잔틴 페이스(그리스어: βήμα, bḗma)는 로마 스텝을 개조한 것으로, 그리스 발 2½의 거리였다.[3]
마찬가지로, 미국의 관습 속도는 2인치 또는 30인치(760 mm)의 거리다.
