UDP 기반 파일 전송 프로토콜(UFTP)은 여러 수신자에게 파일을 전송하도록 설계된 통신 프로토콜이다.[1]이를 위해 UFTP는 UDP(사용자 데이터그램 프로토콜)를 통해 파일을 수신자에게 멀티캐스트한다.UFTP의 기준 구현은 GNU General Public License에 따라 비상업적 사용을 위해 배포된 오픈 소스 소프트웨어다.[2]UFTP와 그 참조 프로토콜의 저자는 데니스 부시다.[3]

UFTP는 통신 위성 전송뿐만 아니라 네트워크 지연이 높은 광역 네트워크에서 효과적으로 수행할 수 있다.[1]

부시는 2001년 7월 6일 UFTP의 사전 버전을 발표했다.두 번의 중간 발매 후 버전 1.0은 2002년 12월 17일에 출판되었다.[4]그는 스타버스트 통신에서 설계되고 개발된 멀티캐스트 파일 전송 프로토콜(MFTP)을 기반으로 UFTP를 기반으로 했다.[5][6]1997년과 1998년에 스타버스트는 프로토콜 채택 촉진을 목적으로 MFTP 규격 초안을 인터넷 엔지니어링 태스크 포스에 제출했었다.[7][8]Starburst는 나중에 그들의 옴니캐스트 파일 배포 소프트웨어와 함께 FTP를 Fantastic Corporation에 팔았다.[9]미국의 디지털 사이니지 회사인 스트라타카체는 2004년 2월 판타스틱에서 이 부동산을 구입했다고 발표했다.[10]
