역사

논란

위키백과 내용 복제

알피스크립트 출판(2009년 4월 제작),[22] 베타스크립트 출판(2010년 1월 제작), 패스트북 출판(2009년 7월 제작),[23] 도옌 베라크 등 회사의 다양한 지부가 위키백과 기사 편집으로 구성된 책을 출판했다.[24] 이 책들은 독일과 플랑드르 도서관에서 구입했다.[25][26]

제목들은 프레데릭 P에 의해 편집된 대로 출판되었다. 밀러, 아그네스 F. 반돔과 존 맥브루스터도 저자로 이름을 올렸다. 2011년 12월 21일 현재 OMS 서점에 180,818개의 타이틀이 등록되어 있다.[27] Betascript는 Lambert M을 열거한다. 수르호네[데], 미리암 T. Timpledon, Susan F. 마르세켄, 마리암 T. 테노에, 수잔 F. Henssonow는 편집자로서 2011년 12월 21일 현재 356,765개의 제목을 추가로 부여했다.[28]

알피스펙트는 출판 전략과 관련해 "특정 주제에 대한 정보를 책 형태로 전달받고자 하는 고객들에게 위키백과보다 빠르고 더 나은 정보 처리를 위한 플랫폼은 거의 없다"고 단언했다.[29][30][31]

옴니스크립트는 2만2000여 편의 작품을 편집했다.[32]

회사에 따르면 2013년 위키백과 기사의 마지막 편찬이 출간됐다. 이 회사는 "원래 학술적 (그리고) 특수 이익 작가"[5]에 초점을 맞추기 위해 위키백과 내용을 출판하는 관행을 중단했다고 진술했다.

비즈니스 관행

옴니스크립트의 사업 관행은 미청구 작품의 판매로 이익을 얻고 다른 곳에서 그 콘텐츠를 이용할 수 있다는 것을 불충분하게 공개했다는 이유로 의심을 받아왔다. 2009년 11월 스위스 신문의 한 기사는 오미스크립트의 관행을 의심스럽다고 묘사했다. 논문은 자신이 출판하고 있는 책이 학술논문임을 밝히지 않은 점, 합격점을 받은 출판물, 높은 가격을 부과한 점 등을 오미스크립트의 탓으로 돌렸다.[33] 미국 작가 빅토리아 스트라우스는 OMS를 "학술 작가 방앗간"으로 특징지었고,[34][35][36] 파간 케네디는 OMS의 관행이 책 출판에서 칡의 잡초 확산의 한 형태와 맞먹는다고 지적한다.[37]

2011년 1월 독일 교수 데보라 베버-울프는 카피, 셰이크, 페이스트(표절과 과학적 위법행위에 관한 블로그)에서 OMS를 스팸 게시자로 언급했는데, 가이드2리서치의 블로그 게시물에서 이 내용이 추가로 확인됐다.[38]
