제6공병지원연대(6 ESR)는 오스트레일리아 육군의 전문공병연대다. 2003년 초에 창설된 이 연대는 이전에 독립한 여러 기술자 비행대(각각 다른 기술자 지원 기능을 제공하는)를 하나의 본부 아래 함께 묶어 구성했다. 퀸즐랜드의 RAAF 기지 앰벌리에 본부를 두고 있는 이 연대의 서브 유니트는 퀸즐랜드에도 본부를 두고 있다.
역사
이 연대는 2003년 1월 13일, 이전에 독립해 있던 다수의 중대급 부대의 행정 본부 역할을 하기 위해 결성되었다.[1]
Attached to the 6th Brigade, the regiment's subunits – the 17th and 21st Construction Squadrons, the 1st Topographical Survey Squadron and the 20th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squadron – were spread across three different locations: Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera; RAAF Base Amberley in Amberley; and Holsworthy Barracks in Holsworthy. 이 부대는 제5 부대의 작전 지원 대대에 의해 지원된다.[2]
연대의 기능상 600명의 병력의 대다수는 다른 여러 군단이 행정 사무원, 운전사, 정비사, 채석사 등을 제공하지만,[1] 왕립 호주 공병대에서 뽑은 정규군이다. 연대 출신 인사들은 창설 이래 수많은 실전배치에 나섰고, 연대는 2008년 아프가니스탄에 작전 슬리퍼의 일환으로 배치된 재건 태스크포스 4의 본부 요소를 제공했다.[2]
제1지질조사대대는 제1정보대대로 재배치되었다.[3] 제17건설중대는 뉴사우스웨일스의 홀스워시 막사에서 퀸즐랜드에 있는 RAAF 베이스 앰벌리로 재배치했다.[4]
