딕시아나라고도 알려진 브래드포드는 미국 앨라배마 주 제퍼슨 카운티에 있는 비법인 공동체다.

역사

브래드포드는 원래 영국의 도시 브래드포드를 기리기 위해 지뢰의 선장이었던 짐 저스티스에 의해 이름이 지어졌다.[2] 당시 우체국은 앨라배마주에 이미 '브래드포드'라는 이름으로 운영되고 있는 우체국이 있다는 사실이 밝혀져 딕시아나라는 이름이 붙었다.[3]

앨라배마 부산물 회사,[4] 버밍엄 용광로 및 제조 회사,[5] 임페리얼 석탄 및 코카콜라 회사 등 브래드포드의 광산에서 석탄을 채굴했다.[6]

우체국은 1880년부터 1984년까지 딕시아나라는 이름으로 운영되었다.[7]
