역사
이 학술지는 1953년 종합실무자 연구회보(College of General Practice's Research Newsletter)로 제정되었다.1960년(Royal College of General Practice of General Practice, 1967년)에 Journal of General Practice로 개칭한 뒤 1990년에 현재의 이름을 얻었다.[1]2013년부터 이 저널의 디지털 콘텐츠는 하이와이어프레스사가 주최한다.[2]
연구기사는 공개접근으로 출판된다.이 저널은 임상 및 정책 주제, 토론과 분석, 임상 지침, 그리고 미술, 책, 영화에 대한 리뷰와 시각, 극성, 오락에 대한 리뷰를 포함하는 "Life & Times"라는 섹션에 대한 사설을 게재한다.역사 과정에서 이 저널은 9명의 편집자를 두었는데, 로저 존스는 2020년 4월까지 편집장을 맡았고, 현재 편집장은 어안 로슨이다.편집국과 저널 팀은 왕립 종합대학에 위치해 있다.
