CLN(Catumental Library Network)은 미국 버몬트 주에 있는 공공 도서관의 컨소시엄이다.오픈 소스인 코하 통합 도서관 시스템을 활용한 통합 도서관 카탈로그를 제공한다.

조직

캣텀 도서관 네트워크는[2] 각 회원 도서관 대표 1명으로 구성된 협의회와 이사회가 선정한 임원(이사장, 부사장, 비서, 회계 담당자)이 선출하는 5인 이사회가 주관하는 501(c)(3) 조직으로 통합된다.의회는 또한 CLN의 연간 예산과 회비를 책정하고, 어떠한 내규 변경도 승인한다.[3]

또한 CLN 내에서 발생하는 카탈로그화 및 유통·대출 문제를 해결하기 위해 각 도서관 대표들과 함께 2개의 그룹을 설립하였다.

이력 및 현황

CLN(The Catumental Library Network)의 개발 및 기획은 2010년 버몬트 도서관부에서 제공한 시드머니, 초기 상담, 지원으로 초기 5인 회원 도서관으로 시작되었다.[4]도서관부는 2015년에 수개월에 걸쳐 대부분의 지원을 철회했다.[5]

조직을 형성하는 주된 동기는 독점적 소프트웨어에서 오픈 소스 소프트웨어로 전환하는 것과 하나의 공유 시스템을 갖는 것(각 도서관이 자체적인 별도의 시스템을 유지, 지불하는 것과는 대조적)으로 비용 절감이었다.또한 통합 카탈로그를 통해 라이브러리 간의 리소스 공유가 쉬워진다.

당초 CLN은 상록수 통합 도서관 시스템을 사용할 계획이었으나,[6] 이후 코하를 ILS로 선정하였다.

최초의 5개 도서관은 2013년 봄과 여름에 새로운 시스템으로 전환되었다.이후 12개 도서관이 추가로 가입했으며 이 중 9개 도서관이 통합 카탈로그에 보유 지분을 추가했다.다른 3개의 도서관은 현재 다양한 준비 단계에 있다.

VT 브리스톨에 있는 로렌스 메모리얼 라이브러리라는 한 도서관은 처음에 참여했지만 컨소시엄의 카탈로그에 추가되기 전에 떠났다.[7]이후 VOKAL에 대신 합류했다.로렌스 메모리얼이 CLN을 떠나는 과정에서 미발견된 전환비용에 대한 우려로, 이사회는 2014년 9월 22일 새로운 회원들에게 350달러(미국)의 환불 불가 보증금을 지급하도록 의결했다.[8]

CLN은 계속해서 추가 멤버를 찾고 있다.

데이터베이스 호스팅

Catumental Library Network의 공통 Koha 데이터베이스와 소프트웨어는 ByWater Solutions가 주최한다.[9]

VOKAL(The Vermont Organization of Coha Automated Librarys)

현재 버몬트에는 그린 마운틴 라이브러리 컨소시엄이 설립한 VOKAL(The Vermont Organization of Koha Automated Libraries)과 (CLN과 유사) ByWater Solutions가 주최하는 다른 하나의 통합 공공 도서관 카탈로그가 있다.[10][11][12]
