역사

Communicorp Group Ltd는 1989년 데니스 오브라이언에 의해 결성되었다. 같은 해 아일랜드에서 무선작전을 개시해 1992년 체코에 진출했다. 이후[when?] 불가리아, 에스토니아, 핀란드, 헝가리에 역을[which?] 추가했다.[1] 더블린에 본사를 둔 이 회사는 현재 아일랜드의 뉴스토크, 투데이 FM, 98FM, SPIN 1038, SPIN 사우스웨스트를 포함한 라디오 방송국을 소유하고 있다. 오브라이언은 아일랜드의 독립 라디오 방송국을 모두 소유하고 있다.[2]

오브라이언스커뮤니코프는 2007년 7월 14일, 에맵이 FM104, 하이랜드 라디오, 투데이 FM을 인수하면서 라디오 방송국을 매각하기로 결정했을 때, 이맵의 아일랜드 사업에서 가장 높은 입찰가를 기록했다.[1][3][4] 2007년 10월 아일랜드 방송위원회(BCI)는 Communicorp의 Today FM과 Highland Radio 인수를 승인했지만 FM104는 승인하지 않았다.[5][6] 이 거래는 2008년 1월까지 완료되었다.[7] 경기 당국의 결정으로 인해, Communcorp은 FM104를 판매하도록 요구받았는데, FM104는 인수 즉시 (UTV Media에) 판매했다. 오브라이언은 2008년 중반 하이랜드 라디오를 오프로드했다.[8][9]
