Coprothermobacterota는 새롭게 제안된 막대 모양의 박테리아 [2]문이다.
그것의 부재는 55°C에서 70°[3]C 사이의 최적의 온도에서 성장하며 혐기성 및 호열성이다.
코프로테르모박터(Coprothermobacter)라는 이름은 그리스어로 거름을 뜻하는 '코프로스(kopros)'와 따뜻함을 뜻하는 'thermos(thermos)'에서 유래한 것으로, 이 박테리아가 최대 성장온도가 75°[4]C인 비교적 높은 온도에서 살 수 있다는 것을 의미한다.
