프로페셔널하게 크랭크다트로 알려진 크리스티안 스미스(1997년 3월 2일생)는 미국의 DJ이자 전자 댄스 음악 프로듀서다.[2]

초년기

스미스는 운동선수가 되고 싶어 자랐지만, 궁극적으로 음악을 추구하기 위해 켄트 주립대학의 육상 전액 장학금을 거절하고, 크랭크다트라는 에너지 넘치고 멜로디 넘치는 일렉트로닉 댄스 음악을 제작했다.스미스는 아직 고등학교에 다닐 때 음악을 만들기 시작했다.[3]

경력

스미스는 원래 Fetty Wap의 브레이크아웃 싱글인 "Trap Queen"을 포함한 다른 아티스트들의 트랙을 리믹스하여 인정을 받았다.결국 이 리믹스들은 수백만 개의 연극을 만들어 냈고 간신히 10대를 넘긴 스미스는 스크릴렉스나 체인스모커스와 같은 일렉트로닉 댄스 음악에서 더 큰 이름들로부터 주목을 받고 있었다.[4]

크랭크닷은 2017년 자우즈 콜라보레이션 'I Hold Still'은 물론 의기양양한 'Dollars'까지 투어를 하면서 오리지널 트랙을 공개했다.[5][6]2019년 크랭크다트는 야심작인 '기어월드' 투어에 나섰다.
