데이비드 구터슨(David Guterson,/1956년 5월 4일생)은 미국의 소설가, 단편소설 작가, 시인, 언론인, 수필가다. 그는 베스트셀러 일본계 미국인 수용소 소설 '시더스에 내리는 눈'의 저자로 가장 잘 알려져 있다.

초년기

구터슨은 1956년 5월 4일 워싱턴주 시애틀에서 형사 피고측 변호사 머레이 구터슨의 아들로 태어났다.[2] 그는 시애틀 공립학교와 루즈벨트 고등학교를 다녔고, 그 후 워싱턴 대학교에서 영문학 학사,[3] 창작문학 석사 학위를 받았다. 그는 또한 구겐하임 동료다.[4]

가르침, 쓰기

사생활
