Digital eXtreme Definition

DXD(Digital eXtreme Definition)는 슈퍼 오디오 CD(SACD)에서 사용되는 오디오 표준인 DSD(Direct Stream Digital)에 녹음된 고해상도 녹음을 편집하기 위해 필립스와 병합 테크놀로지가[1] 원래 개발한 디지털 오디오 포맷이다. SACD에 사용되는 1비트 DSD 형식이 편집에 적합하지 않기 때문에 마스터 단계에서는 DXD 또는 DSD-Wide와[2] 같은 대체 형식을 사용해야 한다.
