어린시절과 교육

도권은 1991년 9월 6일 대한민국 서울특별시에서 태어났습니다.[11][12]그는 서울에 있는 대원외고를 다녔습니다.[12]2015년 Stanford 대학에서 컴퓨터 공학 학사 학위를 받은 후, 그는 Microsoft와 Apple의 소프트웨어 엔지니어로 잠시 근무하기 위해 전환했습니다.[13]

테라폼 랩스

Terraform Labs Pte 공동 설립자인 Do Kwon.기업가 다니엘 신과 함께 2018년 1월 Ltd.[19][20]이후 2018년 테라폼 랩스는 루나(Luna)라는 암호화폐를 출시했습니다.[3]테라폼은 2020년부터 스테이블 코인인 테라USD(UST)를 판매하기 시작했습니다.[3][4]UST와 루나를 모두 포함하는 테라 블록체인은 안정적인 채굴 인센티브를 가지고 있었는데, 이는 잠재적인 낮은 채택률과 제한된 사용 사례에 대응하기 위한 효율적인 재정 정책과 함께 탄력적인 통화 정책을 만들기 위한 것으로 알려졌습니다.[3]UST 스테이블 코인은 루나 공급과 연계된 알고리즘을 사용하여 현금에 고정되어 있는 다른 코인과 달리 약 1달러의 가치를 유지했습니다.[3]루나의 가치는 결국 2022년 4월 116달러를 넘었습니다.[3]

규제이슈

미국 증권거래위원회(SEC)는 2022년 6월 테라폼랩스에 대한 조사를 시작해 테라USD 스테이블코인의 마케팅이 증권 및 투자상품에 대한 연방 규정을 위반했는지 여부를 판단했습니다.[24][25]SEC 조사는 2022년 5월 충돌 이후 테라USD와 그 기반 알고리즘이 시판된 것으로 작동했는지 또는 연방 투자자 보호 규정을 위반했는지 여부를 파악하고자 합니다.[24][25]테라폼 랩스가 싱가포르에 기반을 두고 있음에도 불구하고 미국인들이 기업에 자금을 지원하거나 수익을 추구하기 위해 토큰을 구입했기 때문에 테라USD는 SEC의 규정에 해당됩니다.[24]2023년 2월, SEC는 권씨와 테라폼 랩스를 사기 혐의로 기소했습니다.[26]

2022년 5월 17일, 한국의 국회의원들과 정부 당국은 테라폼 랩스와 설립자 권모씨에 대한 잠재적인 국회 청문회를 요구하면서, 발생한 사건들에 대한 조사가 지연된 주요 원인으로 규제 체계의 미비를 언급했습니다.[27][28][29]

미국 증권거래위원회는 테라USD 관련 SEC 조사에 앞서 2021년 테라폼랩스와 권모씨에게 상장주식을 사실상 '미러링'한 금융파생상품을 설계·제공한 테라폼랩스의 '미러프로토콜'과 관련해 소환장을 발부했습니다.[33]권 씨는 이에 불복하고 대신 증권거래위원회를 고소하겠다고 답했습니다.[23]권씨가 대법원 등기소에 제출한 서류에 따르면 권씨는 2022년 4월 30일 회사의 한국 법인을 해산해달라는 신청을 했고, 이는 2022년 5월 4일 인가된 것입니다.[34][35][36][37][38][39]

테라 블록체인 붕괴

2022년 5월 9일부터 테라폼 랩스는 UST가 미국 달러에 대한 페그를 깨기 시작하면서 화제가 되었습니다.[citation needed]그 후 일주일 동안 UST의 가격은 10센트로 급락했고 루나는 119.51달러의 사상 최고가에서 "사실상 제로"로 떨어졌습니다.[40]그 붕괴로 일주일 만에 거의 450억 달러의 시가총액이 사라졌습니다.[5]

미국에서는 집단소송인 패터슨 대.테라폼 랩스 Pte Ltd.등은 2022년 6월 17일 미국 캘리포니아 북부지방법원에 권씨 등을 상대로 제기된 소송.[46][47]Law LLP의 Scott + Scott 변호사, The Rosen Law Firm PA, Kahn Swick Foti LLP 및 Bragar Eagel & Squire P.C.의 자문을 받아 캘리포니아 북부 지방 법원에 브리핑이 제출되고 있습니다.도권과 테라폼랩스가 미등록 증권을 권유하면서 투자자들에게 생존 가능성을 호도하고 있다고 비난했습니다.[8]

2022년 6월 21일, YTN은 검찰이 권 씨의 한국 여권을 무효화하려고 한다고 보도했습니다.[50]2022년 9월 14일, 대한민국 법원은 한국 자본시장법 위반 혐의로 권씨 외 5명에 대한 구속영장을 발부했습니다.[51][52][53]검찰은 6명 모두 싱가포르에 있다고 밝혔습니다.[51]2022년 9월 19일, 서울남부지검은 권씨를 인터폴 적색수배 대상에 올리고 여권을 취소하는 절차를 시작했다고 밝혔습니다.[54]2022년 12월, 한국은 한국과 범죄인 인도 조약을 맺지 않았기 때문에, 한국 당국은 권씨가 세르비아에 숨어 있다는 그들의 믿음을 공유했습니다.[55]

2023년 5월 11일, 권 씨는 위조된 코스타리카 여권을 사용하여 체포된 몬테네그로 공항을 여행한 혐의에 대해 무죄를 선고했습니다.[13][20]2023년 6월 19일, 권 씨와 테라폼 랩스의 전 재무 책임자 한창준 씨는 위조 여권을 사용한 혐의로 몬테네그로 법원에서 징역 4개월을 선고받았습니다.[61]

기타 혐의점

한국 특별 검찰청에 따르면 권 씨는 몬테네그로에서 체포된 뒤에도 약 3천5백만 달러 상당의 현금을 인출한 것으로 드러났습니다.[62][63][64][65][66]

2023년 6월 권씨가 직접 쓴 편지 등 권씨의 노트북 압수수색 문건과 자료에는 그가 몬테네그로 정부의 전 재정사회복지부 장관이자 현 몬테네그로 총리 후보인 EU의 밀로코 스파이치를 지지한 것으로 알려진 내용이 담긴 것으로 드러났습니다.곧 있을 선거를 위한 자금으로 지금 당장 (PES) 줄을 서야 합니다.[67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76]권씨와 그의 변호인들은 나중에 혐의를 부인했습니다.[77]

개인생활

권씨는 "나의 가장 위대한 발명품의 이름을 딴 나의 가장 사랑스러운 창조물"이라는 트윗을 통해 2022년 4월의 탄생을 알리며 그의 딸을 루나라고 이름 지었습니다.[78]

2022년 5월 12일, 약 200만 달러의 손실을 입었다고 주장하는 개인 투자자가 권씨의 고층 아파트에 무단침입해 사과를 요구한 것으로 알려졌습니다.[79][80][81][82][83]이에 따라 권 씨의 부인이 긴급 경찰 보호를 신청하고 요청했고, 한국 경찰은 사건 수사에 착수했습니다.[84][81][79]
