서덜랜드 샤이어 라이브러리는 뉴사우스웨일스 주 시드니의 서덜랜드 샤이어에 서비스를 제공하는 오스트레일리아의 공공 도서관 시스템이다.[4][5]1953년에 정식으로 설립되었다.2016년 6월 현재 이 도서관의 등록 회원은 7만6389명, 총 36만7049건이다.시스템에는 8개의 지점이 있는데, 그 지점이 위치한 교외의 이름을 따서 이름이 붙여졌다.

서덜랜드샤이어도서관은 2015년 6월 기준 총 37만2518개,[1] 2016년 6월 기준 36만7049개 품목의 재고를 보유하고 있다.[11]주요 공동체 언어 모음집은 서덜랜드, 메나이, 실바니아 도서관에서 아랍어, 중국어, 그리스어, 러시아어를 망라하여 열린다.[12]2015년 6월 현재 성인소설은 전체 도서관 소장품 중 24.73%에 달한다.[13]

역사

서덜랜드 샤이어 라이브러리에 앞서 1937년 현재 영국에서는 실업자를 위한 무료 도서관이 운영되고 있다.[41]1950년, Kirrawee 진행자 협회는 Sutherland Shire Council에 논픽션 도서관을 설립할 것을 요청했다.[42]서덜랜드 샤이어 평의회는 1952년 뉴사우스웨일스의 사람들을 위한 무료 도서관 서비스를 제공하는 도서관법 1939(NSW)을 채택했다.[43][44]크로눌라 예술학교는 1953년에 도서관을 위해 그들의 도서관 공간을 제공했다.[45]서덜랜드 도서관은 1953년 전직 의사의 집에서 8000권의 책을 소장하고 있다.[46]1955년 미란다와 크로눌라 지점이 문을 열었다.[46]1964년 미란다 도서관은 미란다 페어에 입주했다.[47]예술학교의 일부는 크로눌라 분교가 개교할 때 사용되었다.크로눌라 지부는 1969년 서프 로드에 있는 옛 감리교 교회로 이사했다.[48]

서덜랜드 샤이어 도서관은 1962년 이후 전산화된 조합 카탈로그가 등장하기 전까지 도서관 간 대출을 활성화한 시드니 전체의 컬렉션 개발 협정인 '시드니 주제 특별화 계획'에서 철학, 심리학, 수족관, 화학 기술, 네덜란드 문학에 초점을 맞췄다.[49][50]

1989년 서덜랜드 샤이어 도서관은 폭탄 테러 위협으로 악마의 시들을 회수했다.[51]

1994년 도서관의 중앙 지부가 이튼 가로 이전하였다.[8]

2004년 서덜랜드 도서관 직원들은 81시간 15분으로 기네스북에서 가장 긴 독서자가 되었다.[52]

RFID 태그는 2008년에 시행되어 도서관 이용자들이 직접 책을 대출할 수 있게 되었다.[53][54]

2011년 크로눌라 도서관의 귀향 슈트에서 화재가 발생했다.[55]

2013년에는 서덜랜드, 메나이, 엔가딘, 미란다, 커링바, 크로눌라 지사에서 무료 와이파이가 도입되었다.[56]같은 해 서덜랜드 샤이어 평의회를 위해 프라이스워터하우스쿠퍼스가 표기한 전략기획 문서는 도서관 지점 2곳의 폐쇄를 권고했다.[57]

2015년 주 선거를 앞두고 서덜랜드 샤이어 도서관의 관리기구인 서덜랜드 샤이어 의회는 도서관 서비스에 더 많은 국비가 배정될 것을 주장했다.[58]

2015년 서덜랜드 도서관은 3D 프린터를 구입해 도서관 메이커스페이스를 오픈했다.[5]서덜랜드와 크로눌라의 주말 시간은 같은 해에 자원봉사자들의 사용을 증가시킴으로써 연장되었다.[59]도서관은 2015년 '빌리박스' 전자책 서비스에 가입했다.[60]서덜랜드 샤이어 라이브러리는 서덜랜드 지방 법원과의 파트너십과 법률 주간 활동으로 2015 LIAC Centre of Excellence Awards를 수상했다.[61]2015년부터 크로눌라 도서관에서 평화 헬프 데스크의 정의가 제공되었다.[62][63]

중앙지점은 사우스빌리지 쇼핑센터의 일부로 키라위 지역으로 이전하는 것이 제안되었으나,[64] 이후 이 계획은 폐기되었다.[4]
