그란차코 원주민들은 남아메리카의 그란차코에 있는 약 35개의 부족 집단으로 구성되어 있다.북미의 대초원처럼, 그 지형은 유목민들의 생활방식에 적합하기 때문에, 그들의 선사시대 점령에 대한 고고학적 증거는 거의 또는 전혀 없기 때문이다.고고학 자료가 거의 없는 것은 석기 또는 영구 건축에 적합한 원료가 부족하거나 유기물 [1][2]보존에 도움이 되지 않는 토양 조건이 부족하기 때문입니다.
지리
그란차코족의 실제 문화지역은 지리적 그란차코족의 문화지역과 다르다.문화권의 북서쪽 경계는 파라페티강과 바냐도스 데 이조그 강 유역의 습지이며, 그 너머는 문화적 관련성이 없는 샤네와 치리구아노의 땅이다.역사적 시대에도 문화적 경계가 고정된 것은 아니다.17세기 후반, 음바야가 브라질의 [3]마토 그로소 도 술 지방의 아파 강과 미란다 강 사이의 땅을 침략했을 때, 이 지역은 파라과이 강을 가로질러 동쪽으로 확장되었다.
