아이작 슬레이터
Isaac Slater아이작 슬레이터(Isaac Slater, 1803년 – 1883년 12월 3일)는 영국의 무역 디렉토리 출판사였다.
그는 맨체스터에서 태어났다.1818년 그는 무역 명부 출판사인 제임스 피고의 견습생이 되었다.1833년,[1] 아니 1840년 피고의 아들이 죽은 [2]후 피고는 슬레이터를 자신의 회사의 파트너로 만들었고, 그 후 피곳 & 슬레이터라고 불렸다.피고는 1843년에 사망했고 슬레이터는 그 후 자신의 이름으로 디렉토리들을 출판했다.
1845년 홈 마켓인 런던으로부터 다른 도시로 확장되기 시작한 켈리앤코사의 치열한 경쟁으로 슬레이터의 회사는 1852년 이후 남부 잉글랜드 시장에서 철수하고 아일랜드, 스코틀랜드, 북부 잉글랜드에 대한 디렉토리만 발행했다.[2]
슬레이터가 죽은 후 그의 회사는 유한 책임 회사가 되었다.켈리라는 이름이 몇 년 후(스코틀랜드에서는 1921년이 되어서야) 새로 취득한 디렉토리에는 나타나지 않았지만 1892년 켈리앤코에 의해 주식의 대다수가 인수되었다.[2]
