주빌리 수영장(코니시: Poll Jubile)[2]은 콘월 펜잔스에 있는 아트 데코 리도입니다.Saltdean Lido를 [3]제외하고 현존하는 가장 훌륭한 사례로 인정받는 Grade II입니다.500만 리터 용량과 600명의 수영선수, 300피트 길이와 160피트 너비의 영국 최대 해수 [4][5][6]웅덩이입니다.

역사

시공 및 개방

펜잔스에 수영장을 건설하는 계획은 정치적인 문제가 되었고, 지방의회 의원들은 이 수영장을 건설하느냐 아니면 마을의 [7]급수를 개선하는 것이냐의 선택이라고 보았다.한 시의원은 이 프로젝트가 "펜잔스 역사상 가장 큰 흰 코끼리 프로젝트"[8]가 될 것이라고 예측했다.

사용 및 거부

수영장은 1962년 3월 13일 영국을 강타한 재의 수요일 폭풍에 의해 파손되었고, 리도의 반대쪽 벽이 [10][14]뚫렸다.

리도의 인기가 시들해진 1970년대 이후 방문객 수는 감소했고 수영장은 [12]황폐해졌다.1992년 [15]문을 닫았으나 주빌리풀협회(후일 주빌리풀로 [16]불림)가 결성되면서 복원되어 상장건물이 되었다.

부활

이 수영장은 1994년 '그랜드 리오픈'과 펜잔스 태생의 여배우 얀 하비가 리도의 새 [17]시즌을 시작하면서 부활했다.

리도는 2014년 2월 겨울폭풍 때 탈의실과 테라스가 파괴되고 수영장 바닥이 파괴되는 [12][18]등 심각한 구조적 피해를 입었다.지역 커뮤니티에 의해 모금된 294만 파운드의 비용으로 수리되었으며, Power to Change Trust 및 Coast Communities [19]Fund의 조성금으로 수리되었습니다.주빌리풀은 2016년 [12]5월 재개장했다.2016년과 2017년 모두 약 4만 명의 방문객이 방문했습니다.[20]
