록키 에스테이트는 워디지 인근의 3,035헥타레(7,500에이커) 농·주택용지로, 오늘날에는 웨스트 록키, 이스트 록키, 아딩턴의 마을을 아우르는 토지와 재산의 대부분을 포함하고 있다.[1]록키 에스테이트의 현재 매니저는 토마스 로이드다.[2]거의 모든 부동산이 북웨섹스 다운스 지역 뛰어난 자연미(AONB)에 포함되어 있다.

고대 이크닐드 웨이(Icknield Way)는 현대식 국도 544호선과 마찬가지로 이 땅을 통과했다.[3][4]

역사

1859년에서 1870년 사이에 연속적으로 토지를 매입한 후,[5] 그 땅은 영국에서 가장 큰 땅 중 하나가 되었다.[6]이 토지는 제1 남작 워티지(Lady Harriet)와 로버트 로이드 린제이(Robert Loyd-Lindsay)의 소유로 성격이 성장했는데, 그는 부동산 노동자들을 위한 주택과 서비스를 대폭 개선하고 노동자의 모범 마을을 만들려고 시도했다.[7][8]랑게 경도 록키 하우스를 확장하고 개조하여 큰 얼음 집과 오랑캐리를 완성하였다.[8][9][10]

1947년 록키 하우스를 철거하고 [9]록키 스터드를 설립하고 록키 트러스트를 설립해 저렴한 주택을 공급한 제2차 세계대전에 이어 크리스토퍼 로이드에 의해 부동산이 현대화되었다.[11]록키트 트러스트와 마을 주택 자선 트러스트는 그 토지에 대한 주택과 역사적 문제를 지속적으로 관리하고 있다.[1]
