NGC 4306은 처녀자리(Virgo)에서 약 1억 광년 떨어진[5] 곳에 위치한 왜소봉[2][3][4] 렌즈 은하다.이 은하는 천문학자인 하인리히 다레스트에 의해 1865년 4월 16일에 발견되었다.[6]처녀자리 은하단의 일원으로 간주되지만, 높은 방사상 속도 및 NGC 4305와 유사한 거리는 NGC 4306이 배경 은하임을 시사한다.[4][7][8]NGC 4306은 NGC 4305의[8] 동반자로, 상호 작용하고 있는 것으로 보인다.[9][10]
