네오리스토드 아스페리무스는 아프리카 해안에서 자생하는 킹크랩의 일종이다.그것은 남아프리카와 모리타니아에서 997–1,862미터(3,271–6,109피트) 깊이에서 발견되었고,[2][3][4] 네오리스모드에서는 아스페리무스가 마다가스카르, 레위니옹, 브라질 남부 지역에서 발견되었다.[5][6]
이들은 감마리데아의 일종인 이피게넬라 아칸토포다(Iphigenella acantopoda)가 기생하는 것으로 알려져 있다.[7]

Neolithodes asperrimus showed the highest occurrence in the area, being collected from 45 stations distributed evenly along the entire Mauritanian coast between 997 and 1862 m depth
