프레리 반도

Prairie Peninsula

프레리 반도는 전형적인 미국 대초원에서 발견되는 초목들이 위스콘신, 일리노이, 인디애나, 오하이오에 동쪽으로 돌출해 있는 곳이다.[1]반도의 형성은 지역의 주변 숲과 다른 토양 수분 보유에 기인한다고 생각된다.[2]자연 화재 체제도 동부 대초원을 유지하는 데 도움을 준 것으로 여겨진다.[3]원주민들이 생태계 관리에 불을 사용한 것이 생태계 형성과 유지에 기여했다는 이론이 나왔다.[4]

프레리 반도는 오늘날 멸종위기에 처한 생태계로 여겨진다.인간의 정착과 농업을 통해 한반도는 심하게 분열되었다.[5]
