스플린터캣
Splintercat그 가시는 야행성 흉악범이다. 엄청난 속도로 공중을 날아다니다가 큰 나무에 부딪히면 나뭇가지를 툭툭 털고 트렁크를 시들게 하고 은빛 유령처럼 서 있게 한다. 이 죽은 장애물들은 북서 태평양의 많은 지역에서 볼 수 있다. 가시가 달린 고양이는 너구리와 벌들을 노출시키기 위해 이름을 붙인 이 묘기를 부린다.[1] 그러나 열린 나무를 머리로 깨는 행위는 항상 두통을 앓게 하고, 그로 인해 항상 기분이 나빠진다. 따라서, 사람들은 절대로 가시가 있는 곳에 접근하지 말아야 한다.
오리건 주 북부 캐스케이드 산맥에서 발견된 스플린터캣 크릭은 이 전설적인 동물의 이름을 따서 지어졌다.
이 스플리터캣은 줄리 앤드루스 에드워즈의 1974년 아동 책 "The Last of the Great Whangdoodles"에 등장한다. 이 특별한 스플리터캣은 황두들랜드의 수상에게 대답하고 고양이 요람을 즐긴다.
