스티븐 피터 "스티브" 브룩스는 엑서터에 본사를 둔 통계 연구 컨설팅 회사인 [2]셀렉트 통계 서비스의 전무 이사로, 케임브리지 대학교 통계 연구소의 통계학 교수 출신이다.[3]
1991년 브리스톨 대학교에서 수학 학위를, 켄트 대학교에서 통계학 석사 학위를 받았다. 그는 캠브리지에서 박사학위를 받았다. 그의 상사는 개러스 로버츠였다. 졸업 후 그는 통계 그룹의 강사로 브리스톨로 돌아왔고, 그 후 서리 대학교의 수석 강사로 돌아왔다. 2000년에 브룩스는 케임브리지의 킹스 칼리지의 펠로우로 처음 캠브리지로 돌아왔다.[4] 울프슨 칼리지도 [5]있고

그는 2006년 캠브리지에서 출발해 ATASS 스포츠 연구 국장이 되었고 현재 엑서터에 본사를 둔 통계 컨설팅 회사인 Select Statistical Services Ltd의 전무이사와 통계 및 그 응용[8] 프로그램의 Exeter Initiative 이사로 재직하고 있다.
