20세기 이전 1769 – Salem에 지어진 싱글 브라더스 하우스. 1771년 – 살렘에서 사용되고 있는 모라비아 공동묘지("신의 아크레")[1] 1784년 – Salem Tarbor 가 재건되었다. 1802년 – Salem Academy for girls.[2] 1840 – Salem에서 영업 중인 Arista Cotton Mill 및 Fries Moil Mill Mills. 1843 – Salem 비질런트 소방 회사 설립. 1849 – Salem은 새로 형성된 Forsyth County 의 일부가 된다.[5] 1851 – 포사이스 카운티의 자리로 조성 된 뉴타운 "윈스턴". 1852 – Wilmington-Salem(Wilmington-Salem)이 건설되었다. 1856 살렘 주식회사. 찰스 브리츠는 살렘의 초대 시장이 된다.
