Tourism in the Faroe Islands
페로 제도의 관광은 성장하고 있는 산업이다.공식 관광판은 환경부가 감독·주관하고 있는 '투게 패로섬'이다.
2015년 섬 관광은 전체 GDP의 1.4%를 차지했다.[1]관광산업은 그동안 파라다이스 경제를 지배해 온 어업과 같은 다른 산업에 비해 규모가 훨씬 작다.[2]
역사
어업은 지난 수십 년간 파라오 경제의 주요 부문이었다.어업은 수출의 90~95% 정도를 차지한다.[3]하지만 경제가 다변화되기 시작했다.
2013년 '파로섬 방문'은 마케팅 자금이 두 배로 늘었다.[4]2014년 바가르 공항에는 관광 증가의 영향으로 터미널이 새로 문을 열었다.[5]바가르 공항은 2014년 25만 명 이상의 여객이 예상되면서 신터미널 개장 전 10년 동안 이용객이 43% 증가했다.이 때문에 공항 측은 다른 항공사 운영자들이 개입해 파로스와 유럽 간 교통량이 많은 점을 이용하길 바랐다.[5][4]
'찾아가는 패로섬'은 지원자 일행이 패로섬을 여행하며 지역 주민들과 협력해 섬 전역의 10개소를 보존하고 등산로를 조성·유지하며 표지판을 설치하는 '유지보수 폐쇄, 볼런투어리즘 개방' 캠페인을 시작했다.1호 승무원은 2019년 4월 섬으로 이동했다.[6]
2019년 말, 아틀란틱 항공이 존 F로 가는 논스톱 항공편 취항을 준비하고 있다는 사실이 발표되었다. 뉴욕시의 케네디 국제공항.[7]
힐튼은 2020년 말 파라오에 호텔을 개설해 섬 내 최초의 글로벌 호텔 체인이 됐다.[8][9]
임팩트
Faroes 응답자 중 45% 이상이 관광이 나라에 문제보다 더 많은 이익을 가져다 준다고 생각하는 것으로 Consortium Journal of Percentation and Tourism에 발표된 한 연구에서 밝혀졌다.이 연구는 또한 응답자의 95%가 그들의 지역사회에서 더 많은 관광객을 보기를 원한다는 것을 발견했다.[10]
인식
패로 제도는 가디언, 론리 플래닛, 선데이 타임스, 파이낸셜 타임즈와 같은 회사들이 2019년에 이 제도를 추천하는 등 국제 언론에 소개되어 왔다.[11]
2007년 내셔널 지오그래픽 트래블러는 전 세계 111개 섬 공동체 중 페로 섬을 1위로 꼽았다.[12]
