우스터 레드삭스(WooSox)는 매사추세츠주 우스터를 연고로 하는 프로 마이너리그 야구팀이다.[a] 2021년 경기를 시작으로 보스턴 레드삭스의 트리플A 계열사로 포투켓 레드삭스의 뒤를 잇고 있다. 이 팀은 트리플A 동부 리그에서 경쟁하며 새로 건설된 우스터의 폴라 파크에서 홈 경기를 한다.

역사

프로비던스처럼 우스터는 1880년대 초 단명 메이저 리그 볼클럽인 내셔널리그에 출전한 우스터 우스터스를 필두로 활약했다.[15]

데뷔 시즌

폴라 파크

2021년 메이저리그의 마이너리그 야구 구조 개편과 맞물려 레드삭스는 20개 팀 트리플A 동부지구로 편성됐다.[16] 이전에 포투켓 레드삭스를 운영했던 빌리 맥밀런은 우스터의 초대 감독으로 임명되었다.[17] 이 팀의 첫 경기는 원래 4월로 계획되었지만,[18] 트리플A 시즌의 시작은 5월로 연기되었다.[19] 팀은 5월 3일 데뷔 로스터를 발표했고,[20] 5월 4일 뉴저지주 트렌턴에서 열린 경기에서 버팔로 바이슨스와의 경기에서 패하며 시즌을 시작했다.[21]
