2006년 주 의회 [15]선거에서는 CPI(M)의 아크켈 알리 칸이 가장 가까운 경쟁자인 트리나물 의회(Trinamool Congress)의 아룹 로이를 누르고 바그난 의석을 차지했다.대부분의 대회들은 여러모로 궁지에 몰렸지만 승자와 주자만 거론되고 있다.CPI(M)의 Nirupama Chatterjee는 2001년 [14]트리나물 의회의 Sabuj Dutta를 물리쳤다.의회의 [13]Sabuj Dutta는 1996년 CPI(M)의 Nirupama Chatterjee를 물리쳤다.CPI(M)의 니루파마 채터지는 [12]1991년 국회의 사나트 쿠마르 미스라를, 1987년[10],[11] 1982년,[9][18] 1977년 의회의 수산타 바타차르지를 꺾었다.
