2006년과 2001년 주 의회 선거에서는 CPI(M)의 우마 라니 부리 후보가 가장 가까운 라이벌인 트리나물 콩그레스(Trinamool Congress)의 푸르나 찬드라 부리 후보와 트리나물 콩그레스(Trinamool Congress)의 마가람 부리 후보를 누르고 라구나트푸르 의석을 차지했다.대부분의 대회들은 여러모로 궁지에 몰렸지만 승자와 주자만 거론되고 있다.CPI(M)의 나타바르 바그디는 1996년 나바쿠마르 부리, 1991년과 1987년 고팔 다스, 1982년 두르다스 바우리 의원을 꺾었다.SUC의 비조이 바우리 후보가 자나타당의 [26]네팔 바우리 후보를 꺾었다.
