브레인웨어는 자동식별, 데이터 캡처 및 데이터 추출 제품을 판매하는 미국의 소프트웨어 회사였다.[1]이 회사는 2017년 하이랜드소프트웨어에 인수됐다.브레인웨어는 원래 2006년 2월 더 고레스 그룹 LLC가 SER을 인수했을 때 덜레스 기반 SER Solutions Inc.에서 분사했다.2006년 2월부터 2012년 3월까지 브레인웨어의 대주주는 샌프란시스코에 본사를 둔 사모펀드 비스타에쿼티 파트너스였다.[2]

역사

2012년 3월 5일, 렉스마크 인터내셔널은 약 1억 4천 8백만 달러의 현금 가격에 회사를 인수했다고 발표했다[3].그 회사는 렉스마크의 Perceptive Software 부서에 추가되었다.

2017년 7월 10일 하이랜드소프트웨어는 렉스마크 인터내셔널의 Perceptive Business Unit 인수를 마무리했다.Perceptive Content (구 ImageNow), Perceptive Intelligent Capture (구 브레인웨어), Acuo VNA, PACSGER, Claron, Nolij, Saperion, Pallas Athena, ISYS, Twistage를 포함한 Perception 사업부의 모든 기업 소프트웨어 사업 자산은 현재 하이랜드의 제품 포트폴리오로 운영되고 있다.

브레인웨어는 미국 버지니아주 애쉬번(Ashburn)에 본사를 두고 있으며, 영국 런던, 독일 키르차르텐(Kirchzarten), 스위스 뉴샤텔(Neuchhatel) 등에 영업, 지원, 전문 서비스 및 연구개발(R&D) 사무소를 두고 있다.이 회사는 오라클, SAP, 마이크로소프트를 포함한 대부분의 주요 엔터프라이즈 소프트웨어 제공업체와 파트너십을 맺고 있으며 자사의 소프트웨어가 대부분의 가용 엔터프라이즈 콘텐츠 관리 플랫폼과 통합되어 있다고 말했다.브레인웨어는 휴렛패커드, 후지쓰, 오펙스 등 다수의 하드웨어 공급업체와도 제휴했다.[4]

리얼스토리 그룹은 2011년 비교 보고서에서 브레인웨어를 코팩스, 리드소프트와 직접 경쟁하는 '캡처 솔루션' 벤더로 분류한다.[7]
