대학 면접은 짧은 대면이며, 보통 대학 입학사정관과 입학을 신청하는 고등학생의 만남이다. 대학이 성적표, 표준화된 점수, 에세이와 함께 지원자를 평가하는 것은 여러 가지 방법 중 하나이다.[1][2] 면접은 대학 캠퍼스, 고등학교(대학에서 대표를 파견하는 경우), 학생과 동창의 면접이 있을 경우 지역 커피숍 등에서 할 수 있다. 게다가, 몇몇 대학들이 온라인 면접을 실험하고 있다.[3] 대학에서 제공되는 경우 면접은 선택사항으로 설명되기도 하지만, 한 보고서는 면접이 제공되었을 때 면접을 하지 않는 것이 입학 기회를 방해할 수 있다고 제안했다.[4] 게다가, 인터뷰를 하는 것은 참석에 대한 관심을 나타낸다.[5]
