데이비드 데일 라이머는 미국의 외교관이자 고위 외무부 소속이다.그는 2021년부터 시에라리온 주미대사를 지냈다.앞서 모리셔스 주미대사와 세이셸 주미대사를 겸임한 바 있다.
교육
라이머는 오하이오주 스미스빌 출신이다.[1]그는 고센 칼리지에서 역사학 학사 학위를 받았고 피츠버그 대학에서 공공 및 국제 업무 석사 학위를 받았다.[2]
경력
라이머는 1991년부터 외교관으로 근무했다.2015년 미국 국무부 아프리카문제국 서아프리카문제국 국장이 됐다.라이머는 전 사무차장 겸 사무국장이다.[3][4]
모리셔스 세이셸 주재 대사
2017년 11월 2일 도널드 트럼프 대통령은 라이머를 모리셔스 주미대사와 세이셸 주미대사로 지명하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.[3]2017년 11월 2일, 미국 상원에서 음성 투표로[5] 그의 지명이 확정되었다.2017년 12월 13일 대사 취임 선서를 했다.[6]그는 2021년 1월 15일 자리를 떠났다.[7]
시에라리온 주재 대사
2020년 6월 10일 도널드 트럼프 대통령은 라이머를 시에라리온의 차기 주미대사로 지명하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.[2]2020년 6월 22일, 그의 지명은 미국 상원으로 보내졌다.[8]그는 12월 2일 상원 외교위원회에 출석하여 2020년 12월 22일 새벽 전체 상원의 음성 투표로 확정되었다.[9]그는 2021년 3월 24일 줄리어스 마이다 바이오 대통령에게 신임장을 수여했다.[10]
