데이비드 던슨

David Dunson

데이비드 브라이언 던슨(David Brian Dunson, 1972년 출생)은 미국의 통계학자로 듀크 대학교의 통계학, 수학, 전기 및 컴퓨터 공학과 명예 교수다.[1]그의 연구는 복잡하고 고차원적인 데이터에 대한 통계적 방법을 개발하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다.그의 작품의 특정 테마는 베이시안 계층적 모델의 사용, 복잡한 데이터의 잠재적 구조를 학습하는 방법, 불확실성 정량화를 위한 계산적으로 효율적인 알고리즘의 개발 등이다.그는 현재 왕립통계학회지 시리즈 B의 공동편집자로 재직 중이다.

던슨은 1994년 펜실베이니아 주립대에서 수학 학사 학위를 받았고,[1] 1997년 베츠 할로란의 감독 아래 에모리 대학에서 생물통계학 박사 학위를 마쳤다.[2]1997년부터 2008년까지 국립환경보건과학원에 취업한 뒤 2000년 듀크대 부교수로 편입, 2008년 듀크대 전임교수로 부임했다.그는 2001년부터 2013년까지 채플힐에 있는 노스캐롤라이나 대학에서 부교수직을 겸직했다.[1]

던슨은 2007년 미국 통계학회의 펠로우(People of American Statistical Association)가 되었는데, 같은 해 건강 통계학 분야의 젊은 연구자에게 매년 수여되는 모티머 슈피겔만 상을 받았다.2010년 수학통계연구소 연구위원이 되었고, 같은 해 COPSS 총장상을 수상했다.그는 2013년에 예술 과학 명예 교수로 임명되었다.[1]
