유럽상호운용체계위원회(ECIS)는 정보통신기술(ICT) 분야의 상호운용성과 시장상황을 촉진하기 위해 1989년 설립된 국제비영리협회로 소비자 선택의 장점과 다양성에 대한 활발한 경쟁을 허용한다.ECIS는 유럽 연합 기관과 세계 지적 재산권 기구(WIPO)를 포함한 유럽, 국가 및 국제 기구 이전에 상호 운용성과 경쟁과 관련된 많은 문제에 대해 회원국을 대표해 왔다.[citation needed]ECIS 회원은 Adobe Systems, Corel Corporation, IBM, Linspire, Nokia, Opera Software, Oracle Corporation, RealNetworks, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems 등의 크고 작은 정보통신 기술 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 제공업체를 포함한다.[1]
