2011년 설립된 수학전산실험연구회(ICERM)는 미국 브라운대 수학연구소로 국립과학재단(National Science Foundation)의 보조금으로 2010년부터 자금을 지원하고 있다.[1]

설립 당시 이 연구소는 국내에서는 8번째, 뉴잉글랜드에서는 첫 번째였다.[2] 그것은 로드 아일랜드의 프로비던스 시내에 브라운 대학교 공중보건대학원과 공유하는 건물에 위치해 있다.[3]
수학 계산 및 실험 연구 연구소(ICERM)는 1년 내내 수많은 행사와 워크숍을 개최한다. 워크숍은 하루 행사부터 일주일간의 컨퍼런스 및 컨벤션까지 다양하다.[4] 주목할 만한 ICERM 워크샵은 수학자와 디지털 아티스트가 한 자리에 모인 '수학계'(2016년)이다.[5]
