랄프 메츠너(Ralph Metzner, 1936년 5월 18일 ~ 2019년 3월 14일)는 독일 태생의 미국 심리학자, 작가, 연구자로, 1960년대 초 티모시 리어리, 리처드 앨퍼트(Ram Dass라는 이름)와 함께 하버드 대학교에서 사이키델릭 연구에 참여했다. 메츠너는 심리치료사였으며, 샌프란시스코에 있는 캘리포니아 통합연구소의 심리학 에미리투스 교수로, 그곳에서 그는 전 학장 겸 학부 부총장을 지냈다.[1]

초년기

메츠너는 50년 이상 동안 환각학, 요가, 명상, 샤머니즘 등 의식 연구에 관여했다. 그는 인간과 지구의 관계를 치유하고 조화시키는 데 헌신한 비영리 교육 단체인 그린 어스 재단의 공동 설립자 겸 회장을 지냈다.[2] 메츠너는 2006년 영화 엔테오젠에 출연했다. 현대 세계에서 매혹된 코스모스를 재발견하는 다큐멘터리 "Breaking the Divine Inder"이다.[3]

그는 국내외적으로 의식 전환과 화학적 점화에 관한 워크숍을 진행했다.[4] 그는 또한 시인이자 싱어송라이터였으며 키트 워커와 함께 두 장의 CD: 구어 CD("키트 워커의 음악")와 원곡의 음악 CD("Bardo Blues")를 제작했다. 그의 저서로는 《추억의 우물》, 《개척하는 자아》, 《녹색심리학》 등이 있으며, 아야후아스카와 테오나카틀의 과학과 현상학에 관한 편집된 두 권의 모음집과 MDMA 경험에 관한 보고서 모음집 등이 있다. 메츠너는 '마음의 관문을 통해: MDMA와 기타 공감할 수 있는 물질로 경험의 계정'의 서문을 제공했다.[5]
