왕립사회대학 연구 펠로우십(URF)은 왕립학회로부터 자기 분야의 리더가 될 잠재력을 가지고 있다고 평가받는 영국의 우수한 초기 직업 과학자들에게 수여하는 연구 펠로우십이다.[1] 이 연구 펠로십은 생명과학, 물리과학, 공학을 포함한 자연과학 분야의 모든 연구 분야에 자금을 지원하지만 임상 의학을 제외한다.[1]
URF 계획은 동료들이 과학 연구에서 독립적인 경력을 쌓을 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 펠로우들은 펠로우십이 끝날 무렵에 대학에서의 영구 교수직과 학계의 종신 재직에 유력한 후보가 될 것으로 예상된다. 2017년[update] 현재 펠로우십 기금은 수상자의 기본급 비용의 80%까지 지원되며, 나머지 20%는 보통 대학이 펠로우십을 주최한다.
펠로우십은 매년 수여된다. 2016년에는 새로 임명된 44개의 대학 연구 펠로우십을 주최하는 영국과 아일랜드 전역의 25개 대학이 있었다.[2] 2015년 신청 성공률은 8%.[3][4]
