이 유전자는 EF-핸드 모티브를 포함하고 칼슘과 결합하는 S100 단백질 패밀리 멤버를 암호화합니다.이 유전자는 1번 염색체의 S100 유전자 클러스터에 있다.암호화된 단백질의 수치는 암 조직에서 더 낮은 것으로 밝혀졌으며 종양 억제 ^[6]^[7]기능을 시사하는 전이와 관련이 있다.
