염색체 단백질 1B (SMC-1B)의 구조적 유지 (Structural maintenance)는 인간에서 SMC1B 유전자 에 의해 인코딩 되는 단백질이다.[5] [6] [7] SMC-1B는 감수분열 과 유사분열 중 크로마티드 응집과 DNA 재조합에 필요한 단백질군에 속한다.[7] SMC1ß 단백질은 인간 난모세포 의 전체 감수성 과정 에 걸쳐 자매염색체 응집체 REC8 , STAG3 , SMC3 와 다른 응집체들 과 함께 참여하는 것으로 보인다.[8]
