센티엔트 테크놀로지스는 샌프란시스코에 본사를 둔 미국의 인공지능 기술 회사였다.[1]센티엔트는 2007년에 설립되었고 설립 후 서로 다른 지점에서 1억 4천 3백만 달러 이상의 기금을 받았다.[2][3]2016년 기준 센티엔트는 세계에서 가장 많은 자금을 지원받은 AI 기업이다.전자상거래, 온라인 콘텐츠, 거래에 초점을 맞췄다.[4]

역사

센티멘트는 원래 유전금융지주(Genetic Financial Holding Ltd.)로 스텔스 모드로 운영됐다.이 회사는 2007년 애플의 음성인식 소프트웨어 시리로 이어지는 자연어 기술을 만든 앙투안 블론도, 바박 호지트, 아담 샤이어가 설립한 회사다.[7][8]센티언트는 호라이즌 벤처스가 이끄는 시리즈 B 라운드에서 200만 달러 시리즈 A 라운드와 3800만 달러를 모금했다.[7]센티엔트는 2014년 11월 시리즈 C 펀딩에서 1억350만 달러를 기록하며 스텔스 모드에서 벗어났다.[7][3][9]

2019년 센티엔트 테크놀로지가 해체되면서 센티엔트 어센트를 에볼루브에[5] 매각하고 AI 지식재산 대부분을 코게이잔트에 매각했다.[6]

기술

센티엔트의 플랫폼은[10][22] 생물학적 진화를 모방한 진화 연산, 신경계의 구조를 바탕으로 한 딥러닝이 결합됐다.[7]센티엔트의 알고리즘은 개의물리적 사이트에서 무려 200만개의 CPU코어와5000개의 GPU에 카드를 통해 작동해 AI전용으로 알려진 가장 큰 시스템 중 하나가 됐다.[4][23]세계 4000여 전.
