스틸헤드 및 연어의 멸종위기종 DPS 및 ESU 미국 범위

미국 해양대기청은 미국 어류 및 야생동물국 및 환경보호청과 협력하여 철두와 연어를 별개의 개체군(DPS)으로 분류한다.현재 강철머리(온코린쿠스 마이키스)에는 15개의 DPS, 태평양 연어 온코린쿠스에는 31개의 진화적으로 유의한 단위(ESU)가 있다.이들 지역의 경계는 멸종위기종법에 따라 특정 종의 개체군이 멸종위기종으로 지정되어야 하는지 또는 멸종위기종으로 지정되어야 하는지를 결정하기 위해 사용된다.
