2017년 북시리아 민주 연방 첫 지방선거는 2017년 9월 22일에 치러졌다.이번 선거에서는 1만2421명의 [2]후보자가 참여한 북시리아 연방 지역 3,700개 코뮤니티 대표가 선출됐다.9월 22일 지방선거는 12월 지방의회 선거와 2018년 이 지역의 최고 통치기구인 인민민주평의회 연방선거가 이어졌다.시리아 민주군이 장악한 만비지 [3]등 일부 지역은 이번 선거에 포함되지 않았다.

준비

2017년 8월 6일, 파이잘 메크다드 시리아 외무차관은 이번 선거를 "장난"[14]으로 치부했다.

라카 시민 평의회와 라카 주변 5개 부족 지도자들은 선거 [15]지지를 선언했다.

9월 20일 시리아의 쿠르드 국가평의회는 선거 보이콧을 발표하며 "쿠르드 국민의 뜻을 명백히 위반하는 것"[16]이라고 규정했다.
