아프리카 국가 그룹(Group of African States, 또는 African Group)은 유엔의 5개 지역 그룹 중 하나로 아프리카 대륙 출신의 54개 회원국으로 구성되어 있다. 아프리카 그룹은 가장 큰 지역 그룹이며, 전체 유엔 회원국의 28%를 차지한다.

이 그룹은 모든 지역 그룹과 마찬가지로 지역 및 국제 문제에 관한 주제가 논의되는 구속력이 없는 대화 그룹이다. 또한, 이 그룹은 이 지역 출신의 후보자를 지명함으로써 유엔 기구의 의석을 배분하는 것을 돕는다.[1][2]

역할

그 그룹은 모든 지역 그룹과 마찬가지로 지역의 이익을 증진하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 회원국들이 국제문제에 대한 의견을 교환하고, 국제기구에서 논의되고 있는 주제에 대한 후속조치를 수행하며, 복잡한 문제에 대한 공통입장을 구축하고, 그룹의 공동입장을 반영하는 성명서를 준비할 수 있는 포럼을 제공한다.[3][4]

그러나, 가장 중요한 것은, 이 그룹이 이 지역 출신의 다른 유엔 기구 후보들에 대한 논의와 지원 조정을 허용한다는 점이다.[1]
