역사

엘리먼트 AI는 2016년 10월 몬트리올 벤처캐피털펀드 레알벤처스의 장세바스티앙 쿠르노이어와 함께 장프랑수아 가네와 공동창업자 요수아 벤지오, 안네 마르텔, 니콜라스 차파도스, 필리프 보우딘이 설립했다.[1][3][4]2017년 초 오픈소스 머신러닝 데이터베이스인 [5]MLDB.ai의 팀 전체를 인수했다.이어 샌프란시스코 벤처펀드 데이터콜렉티브와 마이크로소프트벤처스가 주도한 시리즈 A라운드에서 미국 투자자로부터 1억200만 달러를 모금했다.[3][6][7][8]

2018년 12월 캐나다 정부는 신규 일자리 창출을 목표로 엘리먼트 AI에 최대 500만 달러를 대출했다.[9]이들은 이후 저스틴 트뤼도와 무니르 마조비 등이 AI의 효과를 연구할 글로벌 패널을 설립하는 등 AI의 효과에 대한 컨퍼런스를 진행했다.[10]2018년 12월 엘리먼트 AI도 국제앰네스티와 파트너십을 맺고 트위터에서 정치와 저널리즘에서 여성을 대상으로 한 온라인 학대를 측정한 연구를 공개했다.[11][12]

이 회사의 첫 독립형 제품인 AI 지원 보험 인수 워크플로우 소프트웨어인 '인더라이징 파트너'가 2019년 9월 출시됐다.[15][16]2019년 12월에는 제조사 데이터셋 관리 플랫폼인 지식 스카우트를 출시했다.[17]

2020년 11월 30일 캘리포니아의 클라우드 기반 IT 서비스 회사인 ServiceNow가 Element AI를 인수하는 계약을 체결했다고 발표했다.[18][19]그 회사는 자금과 옵션이 고갈되어 2억 3천만 달러에 매각되어 스톡옵션이 가치가 소멸된 대부분의 직원들을 해고했다.[20][21]
