역사

배경

스타 브랜드는 홍콩에 본사를 둔 위성 방송사로, 1991년 허치슨 왐포아에 의해 설립되었으며, 1993년 뉴스 코퍼레이션에 인수되었습니다.[5] 2009년 이후, 스타 브랜드는 현재는 별도로 소유된 스타 차이나 미디어와 주로 인도에서 운영되고 있지만, 인도계 시청자를 대상으로 하는 서비스를 통해 국제적으로 프로그램을 배포하는 스타 인디아로 주로 제한되었습니다. 스타 아시아 태평양 사업의 나머지 부분은 나중에 폭스 인터내셔널 채널 사업부 산하에 들어갔습니다.[6]

시작하다

디즈니는 2020년 12월 10일 투자자의 날 행사에서 스타와 스타+를 공식 발표했습니다.[10] 행사 기간 동안, 스타는 디즈니+ 인터페이스 내에서 여섯 번째 브랜드 타일로 출시될 것이라고 발표되었습니다. 스타의 소개와 함께 추가적인 부모 통제가 시작될 것입니다. 스타는 디즈니+ 구독자에게 추가 비용 없이 이용할 수 있지만, 스타의 도입은 가격 인상과 동시에 이루어질 것입니다.[11] 스타는 2021년 2월 23일 캐나다, 영국, 서유럽, 호주, 뉴질랜드, 싱가포르에서 출시되었으며, 서비스는 2021년 말 홍콩과 대만에서 출시되었습니다.[12] 디즈니는 국제 스타 등록부에 몇몇 스타들의 이름을 붙임으로써 그 출시를 홍보했습니다.[13]

스타+는 2021년 8월 31일 라틴 아메리카에서 출시되었습니다. 스타는 2022년에 중동 유럽, 이스라엘, 남아프리카 및 MENA 지역에도 출시될 예정이었습니다. 스타는 일본과 한국에서 각각 2021년 10월 27일과 11월 12일에 출시되었습니다.[14] 실제로 남아프리카 공화국에서는 2022년 5월에, 다양한 MENA 및 유럽 국가에서는 2022년 6월에 출시되었습니다.[15]

이후 2021년 1월 22일, 스타 플러스, 스타 바라트, 스타 골드의 유럽 피드는 스트리밍 허브와의 혼동을 피하기 위해 각각 Utsav Plus, Utsav Barat, Utsav Gold로 브랜드가 변경되었습니다.[16] 디즈니는 앞으로 몇 년 안에 더 많은 한국어, 일본어 및 기타 아시아 콘텐츠를 스타와 디즈니+로 제작할 계획입니다.[17]

일반내용

Sony Pictures와의 다년간의 거래
