마텔 필름스(Mattel Films)[1]는 2013년 10월 16일에 마텔 글로벌 브랜드(Mattel Global Brands)의 일부로 설립된 마텔의 영화 제작 부문입니다.

2016년 3월 31일, 마텔은 그 당시에 새로 만들어진 부서인 마텔 크리에이션스에 부서를 두었고, 그것의 운영을 흡수했고, 7개월 후에 맥스 스틸의 실사 영화 개봉의 저조한 흥행 수신으로 인해 부서를 해체했습니다.[2]2018년 9월 6일, Mattel Films라는 이름으로 다시 부활했습니다.[3]

2021년 6월 24일, 마텔 필름스와 메트로 골드윈 메이어는 폴리 포켓의 실사 영화 제작에 합의했습니다.[24][25]

2021년 12월 16일, 마텔 필름스는 외부 지적 재산을 기반으로 한 첫 번째 프로젝트를 발표했습니다.가브리엘라 레빌라 루고가 쓴 크리스마스 풍선이 영화는 풍선을 통해 산타에게 크리스마스 메시지를 보내려고 한 어린 소녀의 실화를 바탕으로 제작되었습니다.[26][27][28][29]
