분자생물학에서 U83B는 snoRNA의 C/D 계열에 속한다.U83B와 같은 U83B는 문서화된 RNA 대상이 없으며 C/D 박스 snoRNA U43(RPL3)과 동일한 호스트 유전자를 공유한다.[1]N.B. U83A/B/C는 Jady와 Kiss(2000)에 의해 복제된 U83 snoRNA와 시퀀스 유사성이 없다.[2]
